Princess Tiana

This is a costume commission I did for someone on Cosplay.com. This was a 5 month project from start to finish and used about 10 yards of fabric.

The dress is composed of three seperate pieces. The underskirt is a poofy crinolin skirt and the over skirt is three layers of fabric. A satinbase, a chiffon overlay and a taffeta decorative layer that makes up the lily petals. Each petal was made seperately and then sewn together. The dress closes with eye-hooks.

The bodice of the dress is made from seperate pieces to resemble the leaves of a water lily. The green "leaves" were individually cut and lined and the entire dress was connected with hidden stitching and alot of hand sewing. The bodice is closed with a zipper in the back.

Altogether this dress cost about $300 to create including materials and labor.
